Over £8,400 raised for Barnsley Hospice
Over the past year, colleagues and partners have come together to support a wide range of fundraising activities for Barnsley Hospice, which provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people across the borough.
From sponsored walks and raffles to hands-on volunteering and even a fantasy football league, our collective efforts helped to raise an impressive £8,432.68 for the hospice.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and supported such an important cause!
A year of fundraising highlights
Last June saw one of our biggest fundraising moments, with colleagues taking part in the Barnsley Hospice Walk and the Barnsley 10K, together raising an amazing £4,496.
We kicked off the 2025 Christmas season in style, celebrating together while raising vital funds for the hospice. We raised £161 from our festive Elf Run across Barnsley Town Centre, while our Christmas quiz and raffle added another £264.
We joined the Accumulator Challenge, with colleagues creating unique lino prints to sell across our offices raising an extra £289.52 and we raised £248.16 through our staff tuck shop.
Special thanks also goes to BAAS Construction, Kingfisher Windows and Case Management Solutions Group for generous donations that have boosted our fundraising efforts!
Chosen charity for 2026-27
Each year colleagues put forward three causes that are close to their heart and vote to decide which one will be our chosen charity for the year.
After a fantastic year of fundraising, it’s no surprise that colleagues have chosen Barnsley Hospice once again and we’re looking forward to supporting them this year. Fundraising efforts have already got off to a great start with a member of our People and Culture team taking on the abseiling event at Barnsley College.
Simon Atkinson, Corporate Partnership Manager at Barnsley Hospice, said: “The outstanding care we provide at the hospice to local people and their families is only possible thanks to such wonderful support from our amazing corporate partners and Berneslai Homes are nothing short of fantastic in helping us deliver our services.
“We are absolutely thrilled to once again have been chosen as their charity of the year and we can’t wait to see what they get up to once again to fundraise for us. Their generosity and commitment to Barnsley Hospice is hugely appreciated, we couldn’t do what we do without wonderful supporters like you!”
