We believe the best way of improving our services is to work closely with tenants - listening and responding to your feedback. Your views are important to us and every voice matters.
We have a range of involvement opportunities for tenants and leaseholders. Some are paid, some are voluntary, and all are designed to fit around your life. You don’t need any previous knowledge - just your voice, your ideas, and your lived experience.
We’re able to offer training, provide transport and equipment, and cover your expenses for the activities you do for Berneslai Homes.

You can get involved with Berneslai Homes in person, in your community, or online from the comfort of your own home.
Involved tenants and leaseholders help to:
Influence policies, procedures, and improvements to services.
Test, monitor, and give feedback on whether we’re delivering against the promises we make.
Scrutinise our services to make sure we’re meeting all our obligations as a landlord, as set out in the Social Housing Regulatory framework.
Improve homes, neighbourhoods, and communities.
Join our Board or Customer Services Committee to help run our company.

We have a range of exciting involvement opportunities open to all current Berneslai Homes tenants or leaseholders. Roles vary in time commitment and subject matter, so there’s something for everyone. It’s all part of our promise to listen to tenants, work together to identify improvements, and continue to provide high quality services to you.

Resident Insight and Engagement Strategy
Our Resident Insight and Engagement Strategy sets out a how we’ll strengthen the tenant voice in Barnsley. As well as the routine involvement opportunities, each year we agree a plan of how customers can get involved in the improvements or changes we’re making to our service.
